Approximately one-third of the funds under management are institutional including endowments foundations and retirement plans. The relationships range in size from $1 million to $105 million.

Our institutional client base has evolved through referrals, especially in the educational and healthcare fields for both pension fund and endowment management. Our investment philosophy and process offers great appeal to institutions that must exist on the income from their investments and who choose not to invade principal for regular operational needs. This has skewed our client base toward endowment funds which support the annual operating budgets of colleges, private schools, churches and hospitals.

Stratton's Institutional Model Portfolio is invested utilizing a strict value-oriented stock selection process. This proprietary model relies on a four-part quantitative screening process to identify stocks that have those characteristics that we believe are essential to a successful long-term investment strategy. The debate on stock selection is thorough and when complete, a security may be added to our model portfolio. That decision is then implemented uniformly among all of the institutional portfolios. The portfolio that you receive is not that of a single manager, but that of Stratton Management Company.
